My mission is to use the lens of photography to illuminate the beauty and significance of science, inspiring a deeper understanding of the cosmos. Through capturing improbable events and the expanse of space, I aim to bridge the gap between art and science, fostering curiosity, promoting scientific exploration, and encouraging others to look upward toward the stars.
I am an astrophotographer and storyteller with decades of experience capturing the wonders of the cosmos. My fascination with the stars began early, inspired by my dad—a talented photographer and an endlessly curious man. He taught me to ask questions, marvel at the unknown, and find beauty in both science and life’s fleeting moments.
My journey has taken me around the world. I lived in New York City for a decade, where I began my career projecting U.S. elections for major news networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and Fox. Later, I moved to San Francisco to develop my skills in analytics and media, eventually becoming a Vice President in advertising technology. Afterward, I spent 12 years in London working for Meta in its early stages before returning to San Francisco. After two decades in the tech industry, including roles at Meta and Amazon, I decided to pivot fully to my passions for photography and other pursuits.
During the pandemic, when science faced some of its toughest challenges, I lost my father to COVID-19 in 2020. I also lost a friend who struggled with isolation during that time. Much of my work is dedicated to their memory—keeping their stories alive as I explore the universe and its mysteries.
Now, I live in Woodside with my partner and son. I built an observatory to honor both my father and friend—a sanctuary for my passion for science and a tribute to their lives. It’s where I continue to explore the stars and capture celestial events like eclipses, planetary alignments, and rare phenomena. For me, astrophotography is more than art; it’s a way to blend science with humanity, reminding us of our shared place in this vast, awe-inspiring cosmos.
When I’m not working in my observatory, I spend time at Dome Vineyards, our family-run venture that combines my love of science and nature. The vineyard, where we grow Pinot Noir grapes, also serves as a haven for stargazing, with telescopes inviting others to connect with the cosmos.
Through my photography, I hope to inspire others to look up and appreciate not just the universe, but also the importance of science, connection, and curiosity. Every image I take is a reminder of how fleeting yet extraordinary life is—and how we’re all part of something much bigger.
